I tried a workshop with a local Professional Photographer with the subject of long exposures and using light reduction filters to extend the exposure. The following filter where used, Cokin Pro Full ND Kit with the Gradual ND Filter in combination. The filters are ND2, 1 Stop reduction, ND4 2 stop reduction and the ND8 with a 3 stop reduction

(3) Exsp 27 Sec, App f/18, Focal Length 28mm, Fuji X-H2, ISO 100, ND8 Filter with gradual half inserted for the skyline
(4) Exsp 10 Sec, App f/10, Focal Length 22mm, Fuji X-H2, ISO 100, ND8 Filter with gradual half inserted for the skyline
(5)Exsp 30 Sec, App f/9, Focal Length 18mm, Fuji X-H2, ISO 250, No Filter.
(6)Exsp 20 Sec, App f/9, Focal Length 18mm, Fuji X-H2, ISO 100, No Filter.
What I learnt was to trust my camera and the hand held light meter, and just go for it on digital images if they fail just bin them but when they are half there keep them for that learning curve.
