8.4 Happy accidents

I took this image in Zurich zoo. This gorilla was lying quietly and I wanted to get a shot of her quiet expression. There was no angle that didn't have reflections. I wondered if putting a polarising filter on would make any difference, and it did cut down the reflections a little. I decided to go with them as I felt that they made it obvious she was in captivity and to me they looked a bit like virtual bars on her glass cage.

The combination of her expression and the jarring presence of the 'bars' make me feel quite sad when I view this image.
