Skunk Boy - MicroFiction by Matt Barker
This is a microfiction written by my brother, Matt. The original imagery is based on a story told by my father-in-law about going to school after being sprayed by a skunk and not knowing he smelled bad. However, the painting was never finished and made for a better illustration.
"All the other kids made fun of Ricky because he still played with toys. He liked toys. He liked his little green soldier. He could control him in a way that made sense. In a way the outside world didn't."
The classroom scene is based on a James Jean image from his first book, "Process Recess I."
