SERVICE MATCHING TOOL FOR ADOPT:

ADOPT stands for Asians with disabilities outreach project think-tank.
This is an outreach program launched by the University of Illinois department of Disabilities and human development to acquaint disabled people about the various services that they can avail to gain knowledge, work experience and even medical help to lead a quality life. 

I was a business analyst project intern at the department and my primary duties included gathering requirement for a service matching tool and suggesting technical recommendations and create a roadmap to develop the final product till the point of deployment.
 
What skills I honed during my time at the department of disabilities:
 
1) Consultation with clients and their stakeholders to translate business needs into system requirements.
2) Identifying current system and coming up with ways to reengineer and optimize the system to increase efficiency.
3) Conducted feasibilty study, cost analysis and developed workflow and process models on Microsoft Visio for the system.
4) Created a project plan on Microsoft Project considering all risks and resources at hand.
5) Refined my leadership ability in the process of assigning tasks and handling conflict
situations.
6) Learnt programming using C# on the .NET framework.
 
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
1) Develop a questionnaire for disabled people which collects information and suggests services that can help them out with their issues.
2) Generating visual reports from the data that they get from customers.
3) Adding additional services or/and updating existing services using a CMS interface.
