BUBBLE HOOKS - Metal Forging

The ironsmiths of rural villages in outskirts of Jaipur are engaged in iron craft for generations. Most of the iron objects are made by hammering them into shape.  Metal is made pliable by beating it in furnaces and giving it shape by using hammer and tongs
The intention of this artifact was to provide a sculptural yet a utility piece on the wall. The form is inspired by the coral fishes and the bubbles act as the hooks for the clothes. The fish and the bubbles have been made out of a single piece of iron.
