I was required to design and create a new channel brand identity which had to include the following criteria:
Channel Ident, Break Bumper, Menu Board, Promo Lower Third Super and a Channel Bug.
We were given a selection of various television channels to choose from, Horror Channel, Vevo and Syfy to name but a few. I chose the Science Channel.
                First of all, I have chosen ‘Science’ as my channel brand. I was very excited by the prospects of making my own branding for the channel.  I went through different routes trying to figure out how to approach this design regarding the branding style. I wanted something that was unusual and different. I looked up the Science website and it consisted of black and white tonal layout with an orange font san serif typeface. I wanted to shake up the original 3d element and inject some 2d animation and photo collage elements into the indent.
    I decided to go with the theme of digital photo collage of the artist Leonardo da Vinci. This was my take on what my personal perception of science was. I wanted to use these references to his hand drawn images as I considered him to be a scientist of vision and he examined and made articulate research in regards to the human anatomy and animal behaviour. 
Botticelli will be included to reinforce that whole planetary reference (Birth of Venus) and the aesthetic allusion to the perfection of the human physique. The cut outs will be floating around the screen but I will use a camera which will add more depth and they will have the ability to come in and out from the background.
These are a few components that I put together, the logo stayed true to the original design of the Science Channel so I didn't change much only the fact that its not 3 dimensional.
