Here’s a piece I’ve been working on on-and-off for a couple weeks. I got some great feedback on the original sketch of this over the summer, so I knew I had to finish it.
 

Guardians of the Galaxy is without a doubt, among my favorite films in years, certainly this year so far. It is a perfect blend of action, sci-fi, drama, and comedy, both self-aware and genuine. It’s amazing how characters people generally knew next to nothing about made over $252 million in it’s entire box-office run, outdoing not only competitors, but Marvel’s past successes. My hope is that future films, action, sci-fi, comedy or otherwise, look to this film as influence on how to tell a story that is action packed, funny, and full of heart all that the same time without overstepping their boundaries. I have to wonder how Avengers 2 plans on outdoing even this in about 7 months.
