This project was inspire by the Rapunzel fairy tale, I took varies concept art and even real life replica as the base and reference image for this creation. To get to the final image, it has few major parts in which I am going to go over. Hope you enjoy the ride!
After gather enough reference and have an idea of what my final scene will going to look like I go straight to modeling. The first part is the modeling of the actual tower; I try to keep it as cartoon like as possible since that is the style I am going for.
The material, however, I try to keep it as semi-realistic type of feel, just so I can give it a more believability. It looks like a real tower but set in fantasy land...
With the tower set and done, I move on to making the background. The mountain seems like good choice since most of the references image I gather has some form of mountain and valley. The mountain was made from a addon that generates random landscape, then I go to sculpt mode and add in details.
The texture of the mountain was made from three different textures: grass land, rocky and finally snow on top, I painted them via texture paint mode.
The final step is to put both the mountain and the tower together. I blur the background a little, so I can give more focus to the tower. The type of color I want with the final scene is somewhat of a cold winter because I think it best translating the feeling of loneliness in the middle of endless world.
