This project was completed for my Pattern Development II Class in conjucntion with the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women Campaign. I started by mind mapping the word "heart" and brainstorming some key words. I also began researching what causes heart attacks and became fascianted with the operations of the heart. I draped my muslin base on the form before splitting my skirt into three layers to represent the three valves of the heart. My design is timeless and elegant.
The self is made from 100% silk. The three tiers are made from silk organza and the lining is made from an iridenscent soft organza.
