Lesson 5 Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Group Shots, Original Photo 1.
Lesson 5 Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Group Shots, Original Photo 2.
In the two original photos, two different people had their eyes closed (one in photo 1, another in photo 2). I placed both photos into one file, used auto-align to line them up, then created a layer mask on the top photo. I then used a white brush to erase the mask over the man with his eyes open, to create a composite image with no eyes closed.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Removing moles/blemishes, original photo.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. In this image, I used Camera Raw's Healing Brush to remove the moles in the original image. Then I used the Adjustment brush to smooth out and soften the skin of her face and neck, with the Clarity set to -75.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Removing blemishes, original photo.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. In the original image, the model has several moles, freckles and other spots on her face. I used the same technique as the first "remove blemishes" image. I used Camera Raw's Healing brush to remove the spots, then used the Adjustment brush with a -75 Clarity to smooth the skin on the face.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Overexposed, Original image.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. The original image, above, was overexposed. I used Camera Raw's Basic tab to adjust the Exposure, increase the Contrast, and increase the Clarity and Vibrance to enhance the colors. This resulted in a less flat, more interesting image.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Underexposed, original image.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. The original image was underexposed. Again, I used Camera Raw's Basic tab to adjust the Exposure and increase Contrast, while also increasing Clarity and Vibrance.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. Vertical Perspective, original image.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. In the original image, above, the building look like they are tilted outwards slightly. I used the Lens Correction filter in Photoshop to adjust the horizontal and vertical perspectives, as well as correcting lens distortions.
Lesson 5, Pt. 5 - Fixing Common Problems. Love Handles, original image.
Lesson 5, Pt. 2 - Fixing Common Problems. I used Photoshop's Liquify Filter to nudge the bulge inwards, and also to move the shadow inward so it matched the new straighter shape.
