This is my original black and white sketch of Lon Chaney Sr. as the man in the beaver hat, the onscreen vampire in "London After Midnight" (1927). What a terrible shame that thia movie was destroyed in a fire at Universal Studios back in the 1960s. To give you a sense of what the original movie might have ben like, Turner Classic Movies has reconstructed the movie using stills from the movie. It really is not a bad production. This is the completed color version. Since this was inspired from a black and white photo, I had to take liberties with the coloring. I don't know if I got it "right", but I did my best to create an eerie atmosphere.
