The future battlefield commander doesn't need to have his boots on the ground to control his troops.
Instead, he will be controlling everything from his eyes in the sky, viewing the battlefield and issuing commands from the top down.
The BattleTac battlefield interface was fueled by a desire to experiment with green-screening. I find the idea of green-screening real life scenes into computer generated or animated scenes to be a fantastic and wonderful method of bringing a bit of realism into the things I make as a designer. This project bolstered my desire to create even more interfaces, and add another depth of realism and magnificence to them.
Overall this project was a bit rushed so it didn't end up with the exact level of quality that I like to hold myself to. But again, it was an experiment to play around with green-screening, and I'm pleased with the experience I gained during it, and look forward to implementing it into future projects.
This project was made using Adobe Illustrator to design the various interface screens, then was brought into Adobe After Effects for the animating and effects editing.
