SYNOPSIS:
Through stories of real people, we fight the Bipolar Stigma and show how people with Bipolar Disorder can, too, succeed and live life like every other normal person.
Madness Redefined is a 10-minute documentary that explores the extraordinary lives, struggles, and successes of Athena Tan. Following Athena through her daily life and from interviews of people around Athena, we experience and know more about bipolar – from extreme happiness to extreme despair and depression. With re-enactments, we get the see and feel the desperate situations when one with Bipolar Disorder suffers from a relapse. The stigma that surrounds mental health is suffocating – the untruths, the cruel stigmas and myths – and all these plague mentally ill people.
ROLE: - Producer
After taking Production Planning & Management module, I am more confident as a Producer now. Also, with the couple of experiences I gained over the past few productions that I am involved in, I am taking the role as the Producer for this Documentary. I had to choose between being an Editor and a Producer and I eventually choose Producer as this is what I am more comfortable in and love doing.
