My Head in a Jar:

Halloween themed project for my Professional Futures class.  This was my first project using the Arnold render engine.  Had a good time with this one.  In the future I'll try to stay away from transparency using Arnold, extremely expensive to render.

Interior Scene:

This is an interior scene that I designed for a modeling class assignment. The small planks
of beadboard for the island and cabinets was an idea that I got from my parents home
remodel. It was also really fun defining the procedural fur properties of the blanket.

This project was rendered in .EXR format and brought into nuke for manipulation of the
individual render passes and matte masking individual assets. The light rays were done
through a mental ray volume utility.

Robotic Model:

I set out to design my first 3d robot. The intended level of detail was feature film ready model. It was modeled entirely in Maya using bevels for edge detail, free me from the need to smooth the mesh.

Before this project I used Quixel’s dDo texturing program on a couple of smaller projects. It took a while to generate a usable tangent space normal map given that there was no low poly mesh to bake onto. But once I did, after a couple hours in dDo I got these awesome results.

John Deer Model B Tractor:

For this project I replicate this a Deere Tractor and matched it to a background. The lack of blueprints and ideal photo reference gave me the opportunity to make up how some of the pieces were made. The engine parts, although tedious, were a blast to construct.

Alien Ant Concept:

Sculpted in ZBrush.  Rendered using Matcap HDR lighting in ZBrush.
