Universities collect broadly and in large quantities. As a result, esoteric collections are often forgotten. I was assigned in a graphic design course to create a publicity campaign for an obscure collection during a specific month. I chose the Metorite & Planetary Sciences Collection.

 

The design focused on their extraterrestrial nature, copiously using black to suggest outer space and a slight tilt to evoke weightlessness. 

 

 

While the fascination with meteorites stem from their unusual origins, their texture serves as their most striking visual feature. The circular cropping helps them more strongly resemble celestial bodies.
