An Interior Experience
Designing the London Cab of the Future
RESEARCH
An Interior Experience - Defined

My research unearthed a consistent at issue across the board - the vehicle experience.
From a customer's perspective, the cost of taxi travel in London is too high and the passenger experience does not justify the price tag.

From a cab driver's perspective, the cab fare costs are essential for their livelihood. Also, if you spend a minimum of 3-4 years learning The Knowledge (the course where back cab drivers must learn to navigate their way around London); you would expect the driver experience within the cab to be one of great comfort and practicality to cater for the long hours for which cab drivers work, but this is not the case.

In conclusion, it was clear to me that an interior experience which met the needs of both consumer and user was top priority for improvement and therefore became the core focus of my project.

One of the key requirements for the project was to present my research findings in the form of an information poster.

My aim was to find a communicative method which is well recognised, so I used the London Tube map as the template to explain my research findings. (See below)
