Package Design for Fragrance

This fragrance set is based on a person. The set is meant to evoke her personality, preferences, and overall character aesthetic. Taking the information from initial interviews, data was collected and distilled into a series of images and words. This was used to springboard into the fragrance brand seen here. Taking a cue from the client’s favorite piece of music, “Amazing Grace”, a thematic design unit was developed.

The name Janie Song is representative of the client’s nickname and also evokes a sense of sweetness and girlishness. The client’s handwriting was scanned and utilized as a custom font for the logo. The complimentary font is a strong serif called “Engravers MT”, which counterbalances the feminine strokes of the cursive handwritten name. A yellow hue was developed as an accent, representing the client’s favorite color. This secondary accent hue is used in the logo as well as a border design for all labels.

The yellow is Janie Yellow, and is a warm hue representing floral notes, warmth, gentility, and joy. A secondary font, “Vijaya”, and hue, Janie Grey, were developed to notate the fragrance scent name: Grace. The gray hue beautifully compliments the hue of yellow giving the set a sense of class and luxury.
