This project started as a module at the university and continues still as a large project which consists of two parts. The first one is an ongoing series of strips, another - a full-fledged comics book in the making. A short story from the book will be published by EdizioniBD later in 2017.

These are examples of spreads in the big comics.
To start, I've created a character named Piuma, she's a bird, who lives under the ground with her parents – a mole and a heron. She starts school and finds herself helpless against social rituals of which she knows nothing. It's a story about the collision of her inner world with reality.
I've started my work on this projects with an intention to explore ways of visual communication in the medium of comics, as it combines work both in series and in sequence. In addition to that, I decided to make my artwork simple in the sense of performance and in representation. I felt that my ambitions needed restrictions for the sake of result, so I've set a rule of performing a series of short stories in the genre of yonkoma.
I've returned to restrictions of yonkoma. This format is very condensed, ideas have to be conveyed via atmosphere and remarks of characters. As I
am used to create visuals rich in details and not so limited in volume, it was hard to meet the restrictions. To overcome it, I've toughened the visuals first (no colour, emphasis on lighting and composition). Reflection on eliminating the unnecessary from the artwork led to the same in pace of
visuals and their relationship with text.
