This was the first textile project I did on my Central Saint Martin's foundation course in Fashion and Textiles. The project was called Tactile Structures and our class was instructed to explore urban areas around the CSM campus and Central London and observe and record tactile qualities found in the built environment. I looked at specific things that caught my attention- broken windows and grills and worn out bricks on walls. These provided me with a lot of textural information to work with. The textiles that I created were 2D using both print and stitch.
