I was quite taken by the contrast in the original photograph between the bright sunlight reflecting on the paper-bark tree and ferns on the one hand, and the darker textures of the rockface and the shadow of the tree against these.
In capturing the detail of the sketch I kept being drawn back to this strong lighting and contrast of the photograph, hence I was torn between the two worlds ... as you see ...
