For this Advanced Typography class project I was to gather information on a topic of choice and create a booklet that used expressive typography to convey a message. I have always been interested in personality types, and wanted to research about introverts. Using Susan Cains TedTalk, “The Power of Introverts” as the base for my copy, I wanted to show people just how powerful they can be.
Adopting small, simple, and quiet design was a perfect way to demonstrate the personality of an introvert. This allowed me to explore the power that simplicity can bring to a design. I strictly used a black and white color scheme to perpetuate the idea of how introverts are quiet and don’t want a lot of attention. Flipping through the pages the reader will see small typography that feels meek. Maintaining this juxtaposition of being powerful and introverted at the same time, I made design choices that used simple elements to create powerful imagery.
