Polish population as opposed to nowadays life expectancy is ageing rapidly. Over the next 50 years, the median age will have increased from 37 to 54 years. This phenomenon may be due to a number of problems such as loneleyness, escapism or withdrawal of older people from social life. A well – design everyday product can encourage the elderly to be active and also to facilitate their daily lives.
My project is aimed at two groups of users: the elderly and children. Intergenerational relations are particularly important in activating the older generation. Children learn by following a model (A. Bandura). In consequence the more satisfied with life, active elderly people are, the greater a chance for a good retirement age for future generations.
I have come to conclusion, that both the elderly and children should spend a lot of time outdoors, which certainly is difficult in all weathers. Bad weather discourages senior citizens to leave home and so the kids stay indoors too.
To solve the problem I have designed a raincoat which would make possible staying outdoors in bad weather.
My rain cover has convenient, easy-to-grip zippers and stoppers, which is particularly useful for people with impaired motorics. All handling elements are designed in the same color making it easy to spot and use. Contrast lining in the pockets allows the user to see that the pocket is open. Well-fitting hood does not limit visibility and protects from rain. The lower part is made of optically transparent material which maked the siluette look lighter. It also allows to see the ground. Reflecting seams raise the level of road safety.

Projekt uniwersalnego okrycia przeciwdeszczowego powstał w wyniku analizy potrzeb różnych grup użytkowników: osób starszych, osób w średnim wieku, osób niepełnosprawnych i dzieci.
Dżdżu posiada wygodne, łatwe do chwycenia zamki i stopery. Osoby, które borykają się z problemem osłabionej małej motoryki mogą zapiąć je bez trudu. Wszystkie elementy manipulacyjne zaprojektowane zostały w tym samym kolorze, będąc czytelnym komunikatem dla użytkownika. Podszewka w kieszeniach stanowi silny kontrast barwny do materiału wierzchniego. Kaptur został skonstruowany w taki sposób aby nie ograniczać widoczności jednocześnie dobrze chroniąc przed deszczem. Dół wykonany przezroczystego materiału optycznie odciąża sylwetkę jednocześnie poszerzając pole widzenia.
Projekt okrycia przeciwdeszczowego zgodny jest z zasadami projektowania uniwersalnego, czyli projektowania biorącego pod uwagę potrzeby wszystkich ludzi. W przypadku osób starszych proponowane przeze mnie rozwiązania ułatwią korzystanie z okrycia. Osoby pełnosprawne w średnim wieku będą mogły skorzystać z okrycia szybciej i sprawniej niż z dotychczas istniejących rozwiązań.

Projekt okrycia przeciwdeszczowego zgodny jest z zasadami projektowania uniwersalnego, czyli projektowania biorącego pod uwagę potrzeby wszystkich ludzi. W przypadku osób starszych proponowane przeze mnie rozwiązania ułatwią korzystanie z okrycia. Osoby pełnosprawne w średnim wieku będą mogły skorzystać z okrycia szybciej i sprawniej niż z dotychczas istniejących rozwiązań.
