This took some sketching, but I eventually decided that the HOLLYWOOD on top and CALIFORNIA on the bottom shouldn't be quite so obvious lettering.

I painted the letters with bright red, because really, what other color are you gonna use?

The red was great and all, but it wasn't quite enough on its own so I found some red glossy paint and slapped that on there too, which gives it almost like a lipgloss kind of effect. Manhattan agreed and gave his nod of approval.
