Puma Ptah | EP album design

I was blessed to design Puma Ptah’s (formerly known as Ras Puma) New EP "IN ONE ACCORD".

The concept was to make ones focus back on humanity first which we all have in common over religion, culture, skin color etc. The design based on a photo that was taken by Christopher Smith in Varanasi, India with a 35mm camera.

Puma Ptah - In One Accord Synopsis

"I’ve never been a solo artist. This is me taking advantage of what I’ve learned through my journey being apart of several musical musical families, what I’ve experienced in my travels, past ways of lives and disciplines. In today’s societies and the world we strive for superiority and segregation in one way or the other. We have spoiled the exquisiteness in the differences of culture, and have corrupted religion and spirituality for insubstantial gains of power and money. In this EP I’m beginning my attempt to remind myself and others of a fundamental sense of humanity. What we all have in common. Ones who we have trusted with economic leadership have used strategies to tap into our carnal desires to convince us to have a nonchalant attitude about our own self destruction. These songs are affirmations that serve as reminders and motivation to look forward to change."

About Puma Ptah

Born Christopher Smith in St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, and formerly known as RasPuma, Puma Ptah remembers writing lyrics from as early as elementary school.
In 2006 he moved to Virginia where he joined several Local bands which eventually lead to joining the renowned DC based Thievery Corporation and was featured on their 2011 “Culture of Fear” voicing songs “Overstand” and “False Flag Dub” and continues his international travels with the group today.
In 2012 he was featured on the “The Archives” debut album produced by Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation with tracks “Who’s Correct” “More to Life” “Sensibility” and more.
In 2014 after an official 8 year journey and commitment, Puma decided to take the Ras off his  title and move forward from the faith. In 2015 he added the title “Ptah” which generally represented craftsmanship and the creativity of artisans in Kemetic society, but originated with the ability to transform raw scattered thoughts and ideas, and manifest a dynamic use of organized words and thoughts.
Puma is currently recording tracks for the upcoming Thievery Corporation album while moving into the solo world teaming up with Honest Music to release his EP “In One Accord” on May 29.
