PitStop for Illustrator - Install the 33 vector graphic styles and the vectorize action and you can add subtle textures to every part of your artwork. Because these are subtle textures then you can add them to shapes as well as text without your computer coming to a complete stop. Make sure you have a copy of your work next to the one your working on for color reference as the effect has to be applied in black & white.
