Self promotional business cards

My goals for my business cards were to make them differently than a normal business card, while keeping the cost to a minimum. This meant printing on an ink jet printer, but avoiding the appearance of being printed on an ink jet.

The solution was to use a different kind of paper (French Chocolate Speckletone 100 lb cover) and laminated that to a sheet of Staples Double Sided Matte Photo paper (this paper seems to work the best with my Epson and achieves a high saturation of color). This gives me a double-weight card with different colors on each side.

The front is the logo printed in black on the French paper and the back is the contact info and services printed in PMS 4625 to closely match the front. The two sheets are then laminated together (by hand with Super 77).  Then I use Avery mailing labels printed in PMS 376 with my name and logo knocked out and hand applied to the card so that it wraps around the end of the card covering a portion of the front and the back. This gives the card a tactile feature and adds more color to the edge of the card. In the end, I've got a very thick card that promotes my creativity and craftsmanship.
