This Gamified quiz contains questions about the exoplanets discovered by Kepler, this is a companion assessment that ties into the tests and quizzes on the Schoology LMS.
Learners are tasked with answering questions about Kepler. There are four types of questions within the assessment: Fill in the Blank, Multiple Choice, True/False, and Matching. If learners get the questions right, they’re greeted with a confirmation screen – if they get the question wrong, they are shown the correct response. There is a progress bar along the bottom, and a scoring system in place to rank users at the end based on correct answers.
As learners answer questions, they gain points towards an end score that ranks them against other players. The assessment can be lengthened or shortened depending on instructor needs, and extra questions are included with the game module divided by question type.
Users will gain a deeper understanding of Kepler. Learners will also begin to foster a curiosity for the wider exoplanet discoveries and the questions we haven’t quite answered yet – and perhaps will give them the motivation to pursue answers to their own questions about our place in the cosmos.
