I started the illustration with the goal to create a fantasy landscape, that is almost dreamy, or impossible. There are two doors that suggest there is human life underwater in the reefs. Another detail that create that sense of fantasy is the ice that seems to be growing at the base of the tree. Finally, many references were used to make the scene more realistic and precise.
