Captain America Shield construction

This shield is made out of sintra, a thermaplastic. I had a friend help me cut it out after I drafted the pattern for the shape of the shield. I then made stencils for the paint job. I first sprayed the entirety of the shield in a silver metallic paint. Then I went into detailing the shield. Once the shield was dried, I carefully heat treated it with a heat gun so it would have a nice curve in the shield and not lay flat. After it cooled, I applied a clear coat to the shield and then attached adjustable straps to the back.

The utility belt pictured belowed was purchased; I did not make it. The helmet was originally green and I did paint over it, as well as stenciled the "A".
