This is the Sorceress' Staff from the video game, Dragon's Crown. I made this prop to go with my Sorceress Cosplay. I bought a broom from the dollar store and removed the brush end so I was just left with the stick. I then took a foam pool noodle and cut in half (maybe a little more than half), and inserted the stick through the hole of the noodle. I then shaved off the foam to make it blend in; the top had a bigger girth while it tappered off towards the end. I took the remainging foam pieces and cut it into four parts and attached it to the bigger side with masking tape. Once I was satisfied with the overall shape, I thouroughly covered the entirety of the staff in masking tape, making sure to cover both the wooden stick and the foam. When this was finished, I covered the whole thing in paper mâché. This let me make some texture with the paper as it folded on the staff. Once the whole thing was covered and dried, I mixed acrylic paints of various tints and shades of browns to paint the staff. Once that was dried, I added some golf highlights to give the staff a magical look and feel. The process was fun and theraputic, especially the paper mâché part.
