Adobe Draw Illustration

Illustrator Draw
My creative process is pretty systematic and I love all the new mobile creative tools being developed for devices like the iPad. Yet, even though the design industry operates within a digital workflow, I still believe analog methods can improve the digital creativity of any format mobile or otherwise.

This illustration of a Blue Jay created for my "Adobe Draw for Illustration" course demonstrates how I leverage drawing in context of illustration on my iPad. You'll also discover how I initially create my artwork in Adobe Draw, send it to Adobe Illustrator, enhance the detailing using Adobe Photoshop and create a promotional design for my client.
Final illustration and layout for bird watching promotional piece.
My initial thumbnail sketches for this illustration.
My refined sketch that will guide my illustration efforts on my iPad using Adobe Draw.
I scan in and place my refined sketch into Adobe Draw and begin digitally inking my base art using the brush tool.
I establish a background color and start drawing out other features in the bird such as the white feather content, beak, eye, and feet.
My style is a loose fit planes of color. The detailing on the branch was created using the brush tool and adjusting layer opacity.
At this stage I only have to draw out some background silhouettes than I'll send the art to Illustrator on my desktop and finish the composition. For complete access to this art and the effect I created in Photoshop make sure to check out my course at: DrawingVectorGraphics.com
