Thank God Boys, its the Red Tails, April 12 2011 , This was suggested by a colleage who is a member of the Buffalo Sholdiers. I tired to impart a feeling of relief via the title as the Red Tails squadron arrives to escort the bomber group over their respective targets. This was later personified in the recent movie "RED TAILS". You'll notice that I chose to use the earlier P-51 C model characterized by the different canopy structure, as opposed to the newer P-51 D models that became available towards the end of the war.
1969 GTX Mopar 440 cu.in. State Trooper Pkg. Cast iron factory headers, semi highrise Edlebrock manifold with a Carter Quadrojet 750 fourbarrel carburater, Dualpoint distributor, manual front 4.9 cfm fuel pump and a rear electronic 7.6 cfm fuel pump. Satilite bucket seat interior with no console and a Hurst Mystery foue speed shifter coupled to a cast iron Munsy Transmission and a 10 1/2 " clutch. I'm not sure but I think the rear was a 3.90 ratio positraction rear. The body was a Belvedere style.
Forgive me but I had to include this piece which was a hot rod that I briefly enjoyed in my young adulthood. Needless to say, I got into so much trouble with this machine that although I wish I still had it, it was best to see it go.
