As part of my second year at Loughborough University we were set an ebook brief in which we had to design our own visual design for a story from 'One Thousand and One Arabian Nights'. I chose the story 'Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp' and decided to use double exposure photography throughout my design. This meant that I could keep the design as clean and simple as possible whilst also portraying the character and the landscape at the same time. I aimed to make the design more modern than the context of the story would suggest whilst also referring to the roots of the story through the colour scheme. I achieved this through the use of blue and white hues throughout the ebook which mirrored the colours of Chinese ceramics, linking in with the notion of the story being set in a Chinese town.
