Gimawa was a rock band formed in Manila in the early 2000s. According to the members, they named the band after a mystic bird from Filipino folklore. There is no known depiction of said bird and so I imagined a bird-like creature that looks somewhat like a phoenix. The design for this logo was originally conceptualized some 10 years ago, with a much darker tone and monochromatic colors. I decided to update the design a nudge for the purpose of show and tell (and some much needed Adobe Illustrator practice). I hope you (and the former members of the band) like it.
