I made some Japanese style stools, and really felt they needed a table.  This was a chance to experiment on the CNC machine.  The end product was a bit rough, but the experiement was a success.
The whole table was cut from a single sheet of 3/4in birch plywood.
Gluing the table top together from two pieces.  This makes the table top 1-1/2" thick, and feels like a nice solid surface.
While the CNC does all of the cutting for you, there is still a lot of work to go, especially if your router bit is dull...
Here you can see the table with the stools.  Behind is the 4x8' sheet of plywood the pieces were cut from.
Me and a couple of my pieces from a class critique.
