Work In Progress : Hip Hop Compass
A project named "hip hop compass" that is currently being finished.
A project named "hip hop compass" that is currently being finished.
The idea behind the project was to divide the hip hop music community geographically and define who would be considered the "leaders" of these geographic regions, and showcase them as illustrations. These leaders represent the four points of the compass. North - Drake, East - Biggie, South - Lil' Wayne, and West - Tupac. Although there could have been other candidates for each region I felt that these individuals represented there regions best. All of them currently are or had been huge supporters of their home towns and there geographic regions. They are also arguably the biggest names to come out of each of the regions. Each of the illustrations will be presented in an antique style frame. This type of frame choice came directly from the feeling that these individuals are regarded as hip hop royalty, and it serves as a great way to display the illustrations.
The project is currently being finished and composed and will eventually be printed on digital canvas.
All work was done in Adobe Illustrator CS5.

Each frame will have some amount of customization to reflect the individual and their region.
