ROOTS, nature is the place, where you can find your origins
The object is located in Zichovec village, Czech Republic. It´s ment to be a forrest school , suitable for children that attend
primary or secondary school.
The main idea of a forrest school is to teach children in different way that we´re used to. They spend most of the time outside,
in nature. Because only in nature we can find ouselves , the whole meaning of life.
That´s the main idea of my project. The possibility to get back to our roots, to be as near to the earth , as possible.
The main area ist the centre of this object where the mushroom is. It´s a place where everybody meets everybody, the place where
they can all meet together. The whole building is trying to be organized in circles, something like annual rings in trees. You can find changing rooms, classrooms and rooms for sleeping organized in that way.
The rooms for sleeping are as minimal as possible, they correspond with the whole idea of modesty. Rooms are separated for
girls and boys and each has it´s own bathroom. They are asessible
form classrooms.
There is also one isolated room , in case of illness, with separated exit, and two rooms for teachers.
You can find music room , art room , dining room and library there too.
In union with nature, it has green roof with large wooden-glass „mushroom“ that collects the rain water.
In order to maintain the low energy standard, the insulation is 250mm thick in walls, 300mm in ceiling. There is air conditioning
with heat recuperation, that uses the air pipes under the centre of this object. It has solar panels just above the main entrance
in southern part of the building.
