This is a charcoal portrait of the defective detective, Adrian Monk. Monk is one of my absolute favorite shows, because it shows that a clever, highly observant character can drive a story. Action happens all around him, but he takes his time and it works for him - well, usually.
This is a charcoal portrait of the dog my boyfriend and I adopted. He's a Boston Terrier, and his name is Bruiser. I absolutely adore his droopy, dopey, mopey face. He is both the sweetest and most frustrating creature I've ever cared for, but it all balances out.
This charcoal portrait was a birthday present for my good friend, Kira.
This is Wolverine from the film "Logan". I used vine, compressed, and white charcoal, as well as pastel and some eraser drawing techniques.
This is Jim Carrey from the film adaptation of "A Series of Unfortunate Events". I used vine, compressed, and white charcoal, as well as some eraser drawing techniques.

I've been getting back into drawing with charcoal, and I needed to work on my portraiture skills. This has been an exciting project to work on!
