Ap Illustration 2012-2013
Mr. Harrington
Concentration
Ap illustration was a an advanced course in the High school of art and design that helped students really develop their painting skills. Throughout the course we learned how to use different mediums to paint with like oil paint, acrylic and watercolor. One of the requirements of the course was to have a concentration to start thinking about the type of work you wanted to develop. My work was based on the relationship between humans and animals. At first most of the narratives were just commentary on different industries and peoples views. Later I learned that I much further enjoyed using my skill to tell my personal stories and my relationship with people sharing negative views on my interest.
This taught me that artistically I like to get my vision right no matter how many times i have to remake the image. Which you could see in the Loss of Innocence, I didn't like the outcome of the water color version so I tried it again in a different medium. Also I found that I had a curiosity over the different materials I could use other then paint to integrate into my work.
