Redesign Food-Processor
DeLonghi / Kenwood - EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
DeLonghi / Kenwood - EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
The briefing was to redesign a DeLonghi food-processor for the brand Kenwood (both Whirpool companies).
It should be cheapest, prettier and have a more functional design, still keeping all the same mechanical parts above. The most difficult part was to find a pleasent form, the inspiration came after seeing a small perfume bottle which had both lid and recipient the same proportions. We end up proposing this slightly rounded shape with a discreet inclination, wich made possible by relocating the motor closer to the food passage tube.At first it didn’t had this central ring because we wanted it to have a continuous curve between the mechanical top and the recipient but that made the fitting too fragile. So we proposed a ring that was strong enough for the fitting. All the functional solutions came as consequence, the ring allowed to fit two food conteiners at the same time when not at use, with the repositioning of the mechanics it left space at the top to fit the blades and even to hide the cable.
