For this series of delicate wine bottle labels, I wanted to create a brand that is reminiscent of the Arts & Crafts Movement [1850 – 1900] in Scotland, and in particular the Glasgow School of Arts, which was very influential at the time.
The three wines are all named after typical Scottish flowers: Rose, Thistle and Heather, and have been illustrated to resemble the stained-glass rose designs by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who was particularly well known in that era. I drew these images in Illustrator. The typeface is a combination of a few fonts resemblant of that era which I reworked to fit with the design.
The designs are showcased on a royalty-free digital mock up from Graphic Burger which I modified for my own purposes.
