The proposed site was situated in Kharghar (Navi Mumbai),the site was proposed for the educational building by the C.I.D.C.O Development Plan,As Kharghar is the educational hub in Navi Mumbai ,the site is surrounded by roads on three sides while residential comples on one side.The main roads are 35m wide while the secondary road is 15m wide.the site is 2.1m below the ground level and it has a huge promenade.The challenge was to build a sustainable public liibrary building.The design should be barrier free and should also has facilities for visually challenged people..
