Going-to-the-Sun Road is a breathtaking 50-mile two-lane highway that bisects Glacier National Park east to west.  It crosses almost every terrain in the park from glacial lakes, cedar forests, and alpine tundra.  Both directions give different perspectives and amazing vistas.  At 6,646 Logan Pass, the road crosses the Continental Divide.  This National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark was completed in 1932.
The road typically opens mid to late June.  You can find quite a bit of snow near the summit early in the season.
Wildlife sightings can happen when you least expect it.  The irony was not lost on me as I saw this Bighorn sheep next to the Dodge Ram in the Summit parking lot.
