When the opportunity to design an infographic came up, I chose to harness my wisdoms and frustrations from waitressing and working in the food industry for over five years and explain how tipping in the U.S. works. There are many flaws in the system that to this day are unsolved, causing a huge wage-gap for servers depending on day of the week or time of day that they're working. My infographic would ideally be featured in a food magazine to educate people on common tipping customs, the pitfalls of the system as it stands now, and highlighting locations that have banished tipping all together. As well as it being a magazine feature article, I also took the opportunity to create an interactive article, to encourage the user to spend more time digesting the information and forming their own opinion on the matter.
