The Journal
I decided to work on compositing based software, and decided to make a pop-up book. The term pop-up book is often applied to any three-dimensional or movable book, although properly the umbrella term movable book covers pop-ups, transformations, tunnel books, volvelles, flaps, pull-tabs, pop-outs, pull-downs, and more, each of which performs in a different manner. Also included, because they employ the same techniques, are three-dimensional greeting cards.
In this project I want to learn the techniques of bringing the 2D and 3D elements in to the scene and doing the compositing based on the story. To understand the perspective and camera angles that is important in compositing. Working on camera tracking and colour correction. Understanding the look and feel of different objects and different textures or colour of the elements, what it indicates and how would the audience feel about it and what emotions will it indicates.
Story
The story here is what most of us have probably or must have faced in the process of our journey from our home land to the country we are headed towards. (mostly relocating to different country). Here I want to show my journey from India to Auckland. Things that I went through, like applying to passport, selecting the flights, packing my bags, travelling in flight through different country, landing in Auckland, travelling in car, searching for house and finally settling in a place, planning the budget etc. So finally I came up with a story of “How I came to Auckland”.
The voiceover: Hi anybody there, don’t be scared, I am not going to hurt you. I am just going to tell you a story of “How I met your mother!” Ha Ha Ha Ha…I was just kidding; this is a story of how I met your Mother.
In a galaxy far far away there was a young star called the sun and it had 8 planets revolving around it, and had a planet which was only known place with life on it.
They say it had creatures as big as aeroplanes called as dinosaur.
So I came from a country called India and we had lots of temples. In fact, catalogues of gods. We even had temples for helping you out with visa process. I had to visit at least 50 different temples before getting stuck in traffic to catch the flight.
We have a really bad traffic there; I had almost missed my flight. Finally, I boarded the flight.
Auckland was not the only place of my choice, but believe it or not my research said New Zealand is a beautiful country. It’s like a heaven, or I must say expensive heaven.
I came to New Zealand with no idea and people say its crowded city, naaa its no ware compared to the place from where I come from, and it was just the beginning of it.
