"Deli" is short for "Delicatessen," which originally referred to fine foods (delicacies) and/or the store that sold them. In English, “delicatessen” originally meant specially-prepared food. In time the “Delicatessen store” came to be called a “delicatessen”, often abbreviated “Deli”. In here, Deli is referred to as a random shop, selling services ranging from food to balloons, from toys to salon services. As the name states, this project is based on street, moreover on the streets of Delhi. The title “Street side Deli” makes for a pun describing the nature of the feature i.e. the photographs being of street side shops while phonetically telling the observer that the project is based in “Delhi”.

Having talked about the title, this project takes the observer through a series of photographs of street side shops in Delhi, showcasing the daily routine of the people running these shops.
