One of the largest consumer entertainment festivals in the world, Comic-Con is where entertainment brands go to activate a highly influential fan base. GameSpot and CNET partnered to create a pop-up destination located just across from the Convention Center at the entry to the historic Gaslamp district. This was a celebratory space where fans enjoyed game- and tech-focused programming, including a social-media lounge sponsored by Samsung, a game arcade in partnership with Square Enix and a chill-out bar space. Other sponsors included Qualcomm Snapdragon, Internet Explorer and more.
Fan activation tactics included food and drink, augmented-reality gameplay, prizing and general comic-themed fueled revelry. The results? Higher engagement and social presence with our brands while offering unique sponsorship opportunities for our partners to engage this coveted audience.
