Bear in mind that Ermoupoli, the capital of Cyclades where the festival will be held, is a town founded by refugees in the 19th century. Ships arrived safe and sound at Syros whereas others cracked in storms and were wrecked at the Aegean sea. But still, sea and even more so “the Mediterranean evokes navigation, exchange, this –something- that carried merchandise and gods… ideas and methods” [Derrida].
In the near future, in our diverse European societies, will different generations, age group communities and people with different habits, religions, and languages still be living together?
