Inspiration for this cage comes from the symbiotic nature of plants & animals. The mutually sustaining environment is advantageous for the owner of the plants and the pet, as she does not have to take much care of nurturing both.
This is a cage that allows growth.
Chinchillas love to eat grass, so I devised a system to help it fertilise it's own!
Animal faeces is commonly used as plant fertiliser so the tube in the cage connects from the upper shelf where the Chinchilla will poop to the soil in the plant pot. There is a cotton lining the soaks up the urine and helps dry faeces, it can then be manually removed to let faeces fall in pot and be used as fertiliser. The bottom shelf is close to the grass, which can be easily accessed through the wire caging whenever the chinchilla is hungry!
