In the UK, B&Q was a purveyor of Do-It-Yourself home improvement solutions for customers. However, their business model was not working in China, DIY ethos was lacking there. People used B&Q as a showroom, where they could see a wide variety of products, but would source elsewhere.

To unlock the potential of the China market, B&Q asked FITCH to rebrand (VIVID Homes) and co-create a new 'Do-It-With-Me' model. VIVID Homes reinvents how people renovate their homes from online to in-store within six easy steps to customise their dream home.
Once they've finalised their design, customers can experience a virtual 4D mock-up visualisation of their home, projected onto the surfaces of a unique visualizer space. Wearing 3D motion-tracking glasses (VR), they move physically through their own design, picking up objects and taking in the look, sounds, and even smells of their new home.
With VIVID “coaches” available along the way for expertise, customers gather ideas online and in-store. They can share their vision via online “mood boards”, consult their Pocket Coach app, and create layouts in-store with life-size blocks and projections.

Once finalized, the customer’s coach fits their ideas to theirs actual space and converts the design into a project plan, including timings and budgets. VIVID is your partner in creating dream homes.
